I'm sorry

I'm sorry

A Poem by sarah

You should have seen your face
That single look
Of sadness
And surprise

I didn't mean to have you hear me
I didn't even know you were there
Standing directly behind me
Listening to me talk about you

I knew I shouldn't have told them
Even if they pleaded with me
For weeks
Years even

I shouldn't have said anything
*sigh*

I'm sorry
I didn't want to upset you
I didn't want you to even know how I felt
I shouldn't have told them I like you

Please don't be upset with me

*tear*

You should have seen his face
A face of confusion
I should have just stayed
His good friend

Why did I try
For something more
I knew it was pointless
I just couldn't help it

*sobs*

I'm sorry
I just....didn't know you were standing behind me

Author's Note

sarah
This is not nearly as good as I had hoped and I had a REALLY hard time putting it together. But to be honest I wasn't trying to make it great I was just writing what I was feeling. I was talking to my friends about the guy I like and I think he heard me, and now he is acting weird and I am really really upset.

People are creatures of the unexplained (if that makes anyt sense) and always turn up when least expected. I think the best poems and stories are the ones where you write what you feel, when you don't use a formula or try to make everyone else happy. Great work, Sarah. Chin up, it will be fine.

It sucks when this happens. I've been in the situation of having to confess my feelings for a friend, but they just wanted to remain friends. It sucked, but we still have a good laugh together. It's not as bad as you think - your poem. It's really moving and engaging. Hope everything sorts itself out for you

this sounds like a journal entry.. but you should never be ashamed to express or feel the way you feel.. You are a bright person and I can tell by your writtings that you have a big heart..

Ah the workings of intelligent beings, as humans we tend to lift each other high and crash us down whenever possible, a great read.

Don't be upset about the things you said, you spoke as you did in this poem, with a heart overflowing with love, just allow it to grow, but should it die, never worry, for like busses there will be another one along soon enough.

Lovely poem Sarah well done :0)
