Hide Yourself

Hide Yourself

A Poem by StephenAndrew

My lurid confessions slip out past my tongue

Audible ghost of what I have done
I thought I was less foolish more full of logic and reason
Perhaps this is the turning leaf the changing of seasons
I never before made it well up past my skin
That’s least of what you expect of men
So I applied the bandage from beginning to the end
For don’t you know that honesty is a sin

I love the rhyming-it makes the whole piece flow well.

My favorite line: "my lurid confessions slip out past my tongue"

I really liked this. The second line struck me especially, "audible ghost of what I have done" Nice job. :-)
