7) The Pier -ALEX-

     "Jake? Is that you?" I was waiting by the pier and the exact person who I didn't want to see steps out. 

"Toby?  Oh so you decided to come." I said crossing my arms.
     "Yeah, listen Alex. I'm really sorry. This last week has been kind of crazy if you know what I mean? But I'm happy I got to spend it with you.... and Jake and Beth. So if you're still mad I...I understand." He looked at his feet waiting for an answer. That was so sweet ,but I am still a little mad.
     "It's okay. I'm sorry I acted like that. I don't know what happened to me."
     "Alright are we going to go to the pier now?" Jake looked a little embarrassed from hearing that.
     "Yeah come on." Toby led the way. 

     "You know, now that I think about it, I never came here with Ashlee."
     "Really? Me and Ashlee came here a lot when we were dating." He looked as if he said something wrong.
     "Oh." Is all I say.

The pier was old and unstable looking. As I stepped out I felt the whole thing sway.
     "Oh God. That was a bad idea." I was thinking out loud.
     "Why Alex?" Toby said with a grin on his face. Then the idiot got on the pier with me!! 
     "DO YOU WANT THIS OLD THING TO BREAK?!"
     "Don't know how to swim there, Alex?" Jake was getting on too.Wow I hang out with stupid people.
     "Yes I DO! Shut up Jake!"
     "Yeah Jake she does!" Toby tried to "push" me in.
     "Stop! Okay there's gotta be something here that has to do with Ashlee, come on look." I swear we looked everywhere on that pier. As I sat down at the edge, dangling my feet just so they are an inch or so above the water, Toby and Jake came and sat next to me.
     "What are we going to do?" Jake seemed a little worried.
     "I don't know. It's getting dark. We should go soon. Don't want Alex here getting scared."
     "I will push you in the water. Just letting you know that."
     "I would like to see that."Jake said laughing.
     "I'm too strong." Toby said as he stood up grinning. I stood up too pretended to shove him and as he stepped back to miss my shove He stepped right of the pier. Splash!
     "Oh Gosh.Are you okay?" I covered my mouth to keep from laughing which didn't help. Jake on the other hand was on his back,holding his stomach, laughing very hard.
     "Oh go ahead, laugh!" Then the idea hit me. 
     "Toby! Look under the pier!" "What?!"
     "Yeah, look under the pier! Look for a paper or something about Ashlee!" At least Jake knew what I meant.
     "Okay." he didn't sound very thrilled."I found something!"
