DO NOT BLAME ZIS CHOIMANY

DO NOT BLAME ZIS CHOIMANY

A Poem by Salvatore Buttaci
"

The sins of the past too often, and often undeservedly, are visited on the present.

"

Vot heppent in ze 1940s in Choimany

Cannot be blamed on ze Choimans today.

Ze past remains a sing of ze past

Und to tink it voot be joost

To accuse a nation ov a crime

Committed in ze past voot be unfair.

Adolf Hitler hes given our nation

A bed name, but he iss kvite dead,

He und hiss sins zumvere in hell.

If Ze Nazi medmen still march,

Zey do so only in nightmares

Ov ze fery old who hef survived zem.
