A State Of Transience

A State Of Transience

A Poem by Sami Khalil

In a moment of transience ...We all go through it from time to time especially if we remember a deceased one...

))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))

A memory in hand...
A song in the heart!
A coven of stars above a menagerie of crocuses,
straddling a sussurrus of streams..

I think of you☺
More than meets the eyes in its rancid pleas
behind the abrupt-ion of past dissuasion's.

These are not frog songs
but back porch symphonies,
echoing the intensity of crickets,
traveling at present breathes,
with an observant nature,
in the diffusion of confusion
of Solomon's wisdom, where minds
revisit winds in faraway places.

Songs can linger in silence,
when the unseen companion of our thoughts
is in the heat of remembrance,
bitten by love bugs,
disguised in sweet essence,
incurring love's shifting sand and suspended bridges,
upon which hell-bound ones are the only ones
know what heaven will be like in their frustration,
but with the privilege of understanding
and keen searches of horizons.

A memory in hand...
A song in the heart!
An actor delivering lines
where love needs punctuation.
I get carried away...
into a state of transience.

I think of you☺
on my back porch!

Sami Khalil,
"A State Of Transience" Hmm.. Transience: Is it a feeling of movement? How about a meaning within the in-betweens of life? In reading this one my own being was caught up in the past people, my own actions, decisions and so much more.
Life is so full of the walk-ins and walk-outs of real and strong meaning. Meaning in love, meaning within family. You know it just feels kind of scary sometimes. Tenuous, even trembling in the heart if it is dwelt on to long. Well, anyway got myself going with this one. Thanks for this opportunity to reflect. It did me a lot of good.. PS Your author's painting-image posted up-top is just plain stunning! She really portrays the thought of past in her style and the far-away look, as she is gazing out her window. So beautiful.
Blessings to you.
Kathy

Isn't that Mark Twain relaxing in your porch rocker?
You certainly entertain some great house guests, Sami!
And, he, I am certain, would have been proud to be associated with this lovely, perceptive piece of art.
Impressive work, esteemed poet.

Wow Sami you certainly are on a roll. There are several stanzas here that I would have been proud to have penned, quite eloquent yet in stark contrast strangely understated, essentially quietly classy my dear friend, AGT's N
