A Petticoat Diary

A Petticoat  ( female ) Diary/..........By Sami Khalil
(She lived in hope , died in despair)
Her desire to be loved and to love for there were no suitors for marriage.
Based on a true story when I was growing up
)))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))

On those days...
She dances like wild flowers
fluted by dulcet tones
gazing in sweet sorrow
upon utter solaces.
She, who passed star-lights
became a shadow of under-toned shimmers
wandering through life's wild affections
where heavy sighs became her measured void
looking for bucolic warm glows silhouetted
in sweet sensations.

On those nights...
She cradles dreams in tender desires
in a veil of bashful smiles
where the indelible ink is saved
for someone special...for keeps.
Still, she deserves a golden ring
and a clandestine house with stepping
stones to paradise of petaled gardens
where love is tickled to death for eternity.

On those months...
She survives in timeless beauty
brush-stroking the outlines of
her erasable heart, looking for
hands to recreate her rapture d joy
living on just because; of fantasies
on rainy afternoons with no parasols
losing herself in the chill of winters.

On those years...
Constellations glow brightly
and dim softly in sashays of dusted
apparitions when she dances her
last dance!

On those diaries...

Lacy imagery in this character study. You give the reader such detail about the heart of the character....I felt I knew her. To feel one has an "erasable heart" is such a sad thought. And then she dies still holding onto the memories....heavy sigh....so poignant. Absolutely beautiful poetry. Lydi**

Such lovely, delicate words poured out. I really loved reading this. The pictures are soft, and very fitting for your words. :)

This is such a sad emotional write. You really captured the emotion and the title was perfect, it's what pulled me in. Lovely write, Sami - as always.

As I read this poem there was a sadness that made me think of the movie Water, the plight of those widows particularly Kalyani. I know the subject matter of the movie is much harsher but the yearning to be loved, to be recognized for what you have to give was palpable “where heavy sighs became her measured void”

She survives in timeless beauty
brush-stroking the outlines of
her erasable heart, looking for
hands to recreate her rapture d joy

Splendidly Penned.

"Still, she deserves a golden ring" - that is the sentence that got me. Though it is a sad one, I really like this story..

This is such a beautiful passage here in such a sad poem. Well done.

Poignant write , waiting searching for love and dying in despair she surely deserves
Still, she deserves a golden ring
and a clandestine house with stepping
stones to paradise of petaled gardens
where love is tickled to death for eternity
