Casa

A Poem by Sami Khalil
"

The house of our past memories. The house of upbringing or love...

"

Casa/(House in Italian)………………………………By Sami Khalil

A sad romance poem. Going back to the house of your fading memories…

Note: Sorry for the hard work you have to do for some. Look some up you will appreciate the poem.

House of our birth and memories of upbringing stands as a patriot guarding our memories after we have outgrown it and left it decaying but we love to go back to it. Or it could be the house of marriage and love before the death of one’s love. Or the summer house of visits and vacations.

The Poem:

The blanched house stands… abandoned

Dappled home to Assumption silhouettes

Noctuary patriot to scabrous perfervidity

Piteously decaying; amongst lover’s bets.

Randomly dehiscing those lost pareidolias

Solemn hauteurs of crapulent, gaping visions

Upon doom, gloom rises from ingravescent pits

Surmounting belfries of their echoed collisions.

Where bells strike in their muted redundancy

While scornful opprobrium’s pelt at us away

Anamneses raise high to lofty aquiline summits

Through serrated edges, morning lights sway.

This poem of yours could mean a lot of things, really. I felt the longing, the pain, the desire of going back to what once was. Yet, you finish it with light again.

"Through serrated edges, morning lights sway."

And the pain has been released. :)

Wow. Thank you so much for the captivating review. Glad you enjoyed it...:)....................
Memories burst open....sometimes they can be raspy and harsh, but they are part of who we are today, my friend. Indeed, the walls can feel like they are closing in if we dwell in the past....we can be suffocated by it. Still, there is something to be learned from past experience. There are lessons amidst the pain. Your words are beautifully emotive, Sami. The presentation, as always, is so pretty. Lydi**

There is a sadness and a reverent beauty in the shadows of yesterday's losses...
Also, there is a joy and a memory of what was and will never be again in this life. Then a promise lingers as well, maybe tomorrow will have its own monuments of the joys we build upon today.

Lovely poetry Sami. I know this one came from deep in your heart.

The house can be so many things to different people, but many cherish it and want to remember those times spent there, and it is so hard to let go and surrender it. The hurt tugs on your heart for a very long time.
The structure always remains there--strong and weathering through it all!
