Perched/……………..BY Sami Khalil

Perched to fly off into the unknown…A romance poem.

The Poem:

The wind stops its whips

The rain halts its drips

The candle burns its tips

The ocean idles its ships

Death tightens its grips

Luck plays its many chips

The joker shares his quips

A lady shows off her hips

The traveler longs for trips

A trace is found on blips

My name perches sadly

on your lethargic lips!

Ahh, an unexpected, clever end. One thing, did you mean to say "ocean idles?" Anyway, great little snippet at the end.

I found this to be very humorous, sami. This is greeting card material for certain. I also like the art you post with certain pieces. Great comical read. It seems you have the potential to touch every genre in succession.

Yes, romantic but sad.... Someone said to me that being martyr in a literary piece sounds romantic, but in real life, it's masochism. LOL
You cannot get all what you want....even love. That's life.
But you made this one perfect for the concept. Kudos!
