Perched/……………..BY Sami Khalil

Perched to fly off into the unknown…A romance poem.

The Poem:

The wind stops its whips

The rain halts its drips

The candle burns its tips

The ocean idles its ships

Death tightens its grips

Luck plays its many chips

The joker shares his quips

A lady shows off her hips

The traveler longs for trips

A trace is found on blips

My name perches sadly

on your lethargic lips!

Awesome. Love the rhyme scheme. Simple but every line brings something new. Hope that makes sense.

all she has to do is say the word...answer his plea poem...

but will she? the words stay perched upon her lips like an upside down bird
that doesn't fly away, but also won't fly towards.

if only she will return his love.

like america sang "will you meet me in the middle, will you meet me in the air, will you love me just a little, just enough to know you care"
