Surfeit

Surfeit

A Poem by Sami Khalil
"

Best read aloud...A romance poem of the realms...

"

Surfeit/…………………By Sami Khalil

Overindulging in romance and beauty…

The Poem:

Here are no vanishing edges,

No succession of aspersions,

But iconic evolution's and hushed tongues in utter opacity.

Here, souls forever seek in patience,

The entanglement of the divine

With the poetic by feeling tidal waves of incremental light.

Here, we inhabit scrapped shadows,

Reclining on restless Jester moons,

Carved in gilded wonder and stained memories of incised cues.

Here, our humblest apologies become,

Praises of crimson vibrations,

Sifting through the branched edges of sighs and songs.

Here, we ferry dreams along,

From one prayer to another,

To please the pedants of connotations, away from pirate stances.

For here, we are dragged by the shadows that haunt us and the languages that sway us where, even gypsies, find the challenges of wandering and lovers find the baggage’s of fostering.

Here, love seeks the fading hours, when the cresting of hidden spaces spills the nearest and furthest of unfoldment.

Here, we borrow authority and our unseen desires hold space in petitions of fallen stars.

Here, we never get tired of the moon.

i had to pick this apart after reading ..then read again to imagine i have a sense of it ..its a wondrous place yet maintains threads of very real human perceptions and feelings .. way to many exceptional lines for me to say which one ... reading launches me without boundaries .. then pulls me in and points out all the gems of seeing the hidden ..experiencing the Divine .. and deposits me where "...we never get tired of the moon. " i think this is a very unique, engaging inspiring poem to the max ..so glad i read and that you shared Sami!

:::::)))))))........
It is so beautiful to read and even more beautiful to think about later. Thank you for sharing it.

Here, we ferry dreams along,

From one prayer to another,.......

Isn't this how it is? I ferried my dreams, once upon a time, from prayer to prayer. But does God understand?
I don't know. I have given up trying ...just accepting as it is.

Somehow, this poem brings me peace. I am reading and rereading it...again and again. Thank you once again. Bless you.

A poem that paints the picture of reality and in that painting of painful reality there is a beam of light or illumination.

It is a very beautiful and loving poetry.

Firstly I didn't understood but as I read it several times I understood your masterpiece.

The way you describe how the people on this earth making the life difficult for the lovers who are filled with happiness and to whom not any difficulty is a burden is amazing. The way you described their satisfaction, their overindulge is so deep that it touches the heart when think about.

Your poem is worthy to praise. Thanks for sharing it with all of us.

dear Sami, "we ferry dreams along, From one prayer to another".
The romance of a pirate and a gypsy entwines with
the glow of sunset sensitivity. I adore the petition of falling stars.
Brilliant poetry. truly, Pat

ere, we inhabit scrapped shadows,

Reclining on restless Jester moons,

Carved in gilded wonder and stained memories of incised cues.

I love this line especially a "restless jester moon" very lyrical and lush poetry.
