Overcomers

Overcomers

To those who overcome...

Overcomers/………..By Sami Khalil

If unrequited love, move on and find another. It could be a blessing in disguise...It could apply to any other situation too like failure and defeat…

Turn over variegated silences into murmured words

Let’s gather sun warmed rainbows at melting points

Amongst those who drag nascent burdens of memories

Recall the sacred lapping, daggers sheathed at the joints.

Who, what, where and why at early wretched morns

Forgotten chambers caressing drifted spirits within

Hollow echoes vainly fill those nimble, tethered voids

As ruptured faiths are the quiet assassins in mortal sin.

Turn over filtered sorrow, curled solo in earth’s bounds

Let raging contents flow, washing over shores of amends

For God’s sake, fill not a heart in eulogy lest embrace death

Much of this pallid life, refrain not from hope and friends.

Turn over unrequited love into joy that will never end

For overcomers, if patient through, fail not, neither bend.

To love or fall in love with someone is not for the faint hearted. I have witnessed so many young lovers who ruined their lives intentionally after the feelings they have felt towards another heart is not reciprocated. I saw many young hearts self destruct. Love is not something that we mess up lightly nor play around like a harmless fire. For it could dull our mind and the heart overrules its reasoning. For many still cried over spilled milk and would not take the consoling reason that there's more fish that swims in the ocean. Unrequited will stop the world from turning. Unreciprocated will discourage the sun from rising. And the world of these young at hearts are like those days in the time of Noah where it rained for 40 days and 40 nights. And the deluge of tears never settled . Forever lamenting on the one that got away.

But those who survived and overcome the double edge sword will find that patience to wait for the proper time will catch the most prettiest and biggest fish in the ocean. Only to those who overcomes.

I love your message, but I'm not crazy about the stilted language you use becuz I'm not very good at understanding such Shakespearean type writing. That is to say, this isn't a very easy read for me. I do admire your complex & unique word choices, tho. I very much try to be an overcomer (love this word), despite whatever life throws at me. So I understand your message, urging others to not be crushed by the stuff that makes us struggle.

I haven't read anything by you for a while and I become repeatedly impressed by your choice of words. The way you express yourself is intelligent and well-crafted. Your poems are a sort of intellectual entertainment.

gathering sun warmed rainbows at melting points. Love is sometimes as ephemeral as this line. Beautiful and elusive.
Well penned.

Without the heartaches, we couldn't have wonderful poetry as this one. Pain and suffering don't always mean a bad thing sometimes it's a beautiful thing as the birth of a child, after the moans and cries, comes laughter.

Wow. Thank you so much for this wonderful review. Glad you enjoyed....:)))))
I love this! Although it seems approached with a calm nature, it quickly follows the path of angry sorrow, (at least I though it did). I myself once had a love that ended up leaving me twisted and bent inside for close to three years. Beautifully penned

Amazing write,as the words flow to describe love in so many different lights. Love is a tangled web,can often send one into a whirlwind and cause a heart to tumble if not given love in return. Enjoyed your words.
