Haunted closets

 (Those unruly skeletons )       By…Sami kHALIL

When thou heareth the screams;

Those obstreperous eruptions,

Drenched in treasured mystery...

The sights and sounds of swarthy fears.

When thou beholdeth the spectres;

Dim in fondness or bitterness,

Mastering thine restless battlefields…

The background shadows of truths.

When thou archive the spiels;

Lengthy veterans of mayhem,

Exploring what is not revealed…

The stipulations to end all turmoil’s.

When thou shapeth generations;

The pointless depths of thine souls,

Changing men in the mirrors…

The uncommon priors of lengthy scopes.

Skeletons becometh treasures.

Thine heart becometh a lion tamer.

Sami.

A poem that at first seems simply to follow a well trod theme, (those skeletons in the closet,) which we all have; but then we come to the closing two lines which add great depth to this piece.

Life's pathway is a complex series of curves and bends; and each step brings experiences which we store and lock deep in the treasure chest that is memory; and it is those experiences, both good and bad, that shape and dictate our three score year and ten and how we live them.

An enjoyable and thought provoking poem. Beccy

I really enjoy this piece. To me, it speaks very much to courage to face reality. Reading it makes me wonder what, for you personally, determines when you write in this style (vs standard English). Note I'm not demanding you divulge that. Just mentioning it crossed my mind :)

Sami Khalil,
All is said that can be said. I am not alone in my traveling a uneven and swirling path of life! Commonality to humanity is here in your "haunted closets." For past living memories are what we learn from if we desire it. Lessons are precious after all. Bless your analytical writing. Love it! Kathy

Beautifully written. The language and the theme and then the concluding lines...all wonderfully done.
Sometimes there are too many skeletons and even if the heart becomes a lion tamer, there are too many lions to tame and I don't know if one can really live with all of those fears.
Someday, I will love to write something like that...without being a lion tamer. I want to see if a lamb can survive in such conditions.

i am not usually a fan of thines and thoes but i think it works very well in your poem ..your first verse takes me right in and i see the skeleton pirates of the high seas and black flags (i have one tattooed on me ribs matey ;)
i really like the pics you did a fine search to decide on them i imagine ..we must take heart to even begin this journey you suggest ..i think many a death occurs if we don't stand the muster ... honesty, just that mustard seed of faith to hold to and the melting of false pride and lust is daunting i think ... but once revealed the treasures are many no doubt .. and the moving on is so very quiet with a confidence of any weight we may be required to carry ..it becomes no burden ... love the language ..thank you for my two new words of the day that say so much so easily ...obstreperous and spiels ...you have trimmed this one to the quick and invite a journey ..well done says i! into the library it goes :)

Wounds will heal and become scars that remind us what we had been through to make us or break us, but in this poem, it shows how we should take advantage of what happened before to make our hearts wiser and braver. Well done, lovely written piece.
