Romance at any mature age and level of wisdom...In the mood for the classics

==============================================================================================
Declareth I, declareth to thee manifest love
With runnels of gentle sweat running forth
And countenance of our meandering grace
Pouring of honeyed words, proving a worth.
This whip-lashed susurration never abates
Vividly dreams becometh a master witness
The panoply of resilience and florid enigma
Unsoiling the sunsets of life and its fitness.
Declareth I with veneration and delectation
I love thee with truest of perplexed sagacity
Thine beauty filleth mine tremulous heart
By pervading affection, thine own vivacity.
Declareth I whilst surreal skies may conjure
Days ahead when weary would fain treasure.

My love is like a red, red rose
That’s newly sprung in June :
My love is like the melody
That’s sweetly played in tune.

Yes indeed Sami, shades of auld Lang syne throughout this enchanting old worldly penned poem, sure to melt any fair maidens heart...A classic !

As always Sami so well written with the grace and poise of a fine craftsman. I see fair maidens and princesses knocking on your castle door for your autograph.

Some of the old time writers expressed their heart into their writes. I love to read the masters of prose. Valentine

A very impressive poem, tender and romantic. It reads as if from a by gone era, which is fabulous to see today. Everything about this is grand.

this is terrific, Sami...

old old old time poetry about love in this day and age...when love is so flighty, so ephemeral and so much about self-gratification rather than companionship, sticking by another through the tough times as well as the good times...and just really putting the other first...unselfishly..

i wish we were like this again and poets wouldn't be writing as much about past loves...but more about current loves.
