Shadows Of Doom/By Sami Khalil

Foretelling of a doomed world

Now with bliss of ancient dominions briefly remembered

Uncertain as lamentations of child’s shipwrecked words

Oh, Chroniclers of sonorous bombast and feeble blithe

The sun shan’t see her lofty tabernacle above dusty herds.

Time and time again in dwindling of peace witnessed coarse

Where foredoomed spires and domes grieve the fall of lords

No brides to marvel, no bridles of incendiary evil to scythe

While lilting, winds turn dusty fields across the spindrift wards.

An overgrown child at heart found to breathe a bit morbid

Where shadows of doom can trace their lost fellows’ sherds

With fits of spells no heartless one can endure the writhe

Bodies lain on darker days to girded vultures and rumpus birds.

:)...............:)
I read this and all i could think of was politics
and how the world is seeking their own doom .....
its as if we are blind to our own acts and words

i love your words and where they take me ....

The context is so dark and gritty but reads so smoothly. You did a great job on this!

Such a profoundly elegant portrait of impending doom that the reader is slightly tempted to hope for its earliest arrival.
A magnificent piece, Sami!

so far of your writing I enjoyed this one the most.

distant reflection in a thousand yard stare, embracing what is too come. that's what this made me feel when I read it.

Sir, I learn a lot from your writing.
And no need to mention anything, they are always great.
In the dark phases outlined above, I found two simply extraordinary...
The sun shan’t see her lofty tabernacle above dusty herds.
An overgrown child at heart found to breathe a bit morbid.
We are blessed, we have you.
