Brave It

Romance and courage...

Brave It…                      Sami Khalil

I braved wars, rains and high seas

The Western and Eastern fronts

Language barriers

The veils that cloud many moons

The heart quivers,

Awakening at night

The speed of sound,

The light of reason

Questions and exclamation marks

Responses and rejections

The casual, the formal

The radiance of your star

The endless search

Between…

Cradles and graves

I braved

loving you!

Ah yes, love, how it makes the world go round; how pointless would our existence be without it.

We all pray for a knight in shining armour of course, such a pity that so often our heroes turn out to have feet of clay. :))

Beccy.

Very endearing. I hoping the object of your affections was worth it. Such reckless abandon in the pursuit. Some of us make due with a mere text message. Well penned. :)

Whoa! This doesn't come across like the most complimentary message (as far as describing the courageous efforts of loving this person), but it's very impactful! I guess loving ANYONE is much more daunting that all the minor challenges you detail here to make your point! *wink! wink!* Fondly, Margie

:-))) . You are most welcome!!!
I'm glad I opened this to read, I found my self in many of Your lines, and though this speaks of love but in my mind it reflects also writing poetry, at least for me it's so.

Thank You for sharing Your words here, and they have a "Nizarian" sense :)

That's wonderful! Good for You!
Very well written, Sami.

In the short length of this write you have perfectly described the sacrifices one makes in the true pursuit of love. For there really is nothing braver than to love someone wholeheartedly and unconditionally, breathing in all that they are, and seeing the world through their eyes.

Another wonderfully executed poem. And stunning artwork!

Hi Sami - it is me, Rosalind! I wanted to drop by and say hello - and also read some of your work - love the red dress on the picture! Loved this piece, too. Poignant, as others have mentioned - also a sweet reverence to all we hold dear. I am glad to see you drawing the images - and I hope you are well.
