Disfigured Heart

Disfigured Heart

A Poem by Samm

A boy told himself he wasn’t good enough,

but I’m determined to call his bluff.

This boy is and will always be a survivor

And I am the one to be his secret admirer.

His smile has always been my savior,

However, he cuts himself deep with a razor.

His cuts are made deep in his skin

And let’s not forget he’s growing too thin.

For when I once knew him, he was a happy soul,

Now he has shriveled to a black brown coal.

His bright, warm, sunshine-like smile,

Now has turned into something you only see, once in awhile

You can hear happy his laugh and his devilish grin

what now seems like a deadly sin

He loves too hard

Because his heart has been marred

But I’ll love his disfigured heart

Because without him, I’d[SB1]  fall apart.

A heart once torn will take a long time to get back to form, if it ever does so. Take it in strides, the wounds and all. They may never look for a tailor but the stitches are there. Just have to find the needle and the rest may follow. Loved it! Really nice!

You kept me on the edge of my seat wanting more. Look forward to more from you. The detail and the rhyme is on point. And the emotion, raw, emotion is there. I'm with you on this one.
