Why Should I Believe In Love?

A sappy broken heart poem...

What is love anyway?

Is it something we're really supposed to believe in?

 

I believe in broken hearts

I believe in lies

I believe in saying hello

And you not bothering to say goodbye

I believe that I was wrong

And I don't believe that you were right

I don't understand why this goes on

Fight, after fight, after fight

You told me that you loved me

That you would never be cruel

Yet you've done the opposite

You've made me into a fool

So tell me, why should I believe in you?

After everything, yes, everything

You've put me through

You've stepped on my heart

You've stepped on my toes

When this will end

I don't think anyone knows

But it's carried on for way to long

So why won't I say goodbye?

I love you just too damn much

But you, my love, have made my heart cry

This is so heartfelt and sad. It's exactly how I feel someone right now!!!! Brought me to tears! I like the first 2 lines in particular - What is love anyway? Is it something we're really supposed to believe in? I find those very relevant questions. Just wish I could find the answers...

These two questions posed were a brilliant start to this piece. Unfortunately, sometimes love takes our hearts hostage and we have no choice but to believe in it. Both its pleasures and pains become very real, very quick. There is a since of confusion and resignation through out this poem that I found to be delightful. A wonderful write.

I really like this piece, it shows true emotion. When you love someone so much you can't explain why you put up with the things that you do. I can totally relate to the emotion expressed here...I love the ending...
