Epiphany

Epiphany

A Poem by Chris G. Vaillancourt

the silence was broken today
another crack in that deceptive egg of rottenness
truth breaks the statue of seeming frozenness
light warms ice cold lips
that now release revelation from its grips
scratches and bruises
worked like clay into overdrawn eyes
 i see so many things
when I paint the posters of the
upcoming revelation
it does not matter what sort of toothpaste
is left rotting in the sink
it only matters that something matters
that something means what it means
i know only three people
that really love me inside and out
me myself and i

sometimes your crazy doesn't quite go far enough or fit quite right and this time it does both those things, i quite enjoy it. though twice saying rotten is a bit beneath you, no?

Great, clever last lines. One of the best poems I have read from you.....deceptive egg of rotteness is great, with its inversion of a common expression.Good work.

Wonderful write! The ending was just perfect, sometimes, the only person who will accept you for you is yourself, and others even you can't stand what you have become. Imagery was heavy in this one, and I really enjoyed it. Keep up the great work!
