Falling RainA Poem by Chris G. VaillancourtPublished in "Detour Memphis" Summer 2002 also published in " The Malaysian Poetic Chronicles" Jan. 2010The last wind of winter has ceased its power. The rains of spring have replaced the snow. From the ground, the plants have burst out. Early flowers busy in their own serenity. Oh falling rain, cleanse the dirt of the heart. I find myself sitting on my back porch. Sighing gently to the pattern of the rain, Patterns of raindrops that hit the mind in They are a growing source of cleansing O falling rain, cleanse the dirt of the heart. Standing up, I become once again myself. by the thoughts of what the waters bring. Vindictive tugging of thought interferes Rushing from my porch into the rain, O falling rain, cleanse the dirt of the heart. © 2011 Chris G. VaillancourtReviews
