Drink Is A Drag

Drink Is A Drag

A Poem by Chris G. Vaillancourt

"

Drink is a drag.

Makes me come out with pain.
Makes me bitter and mad.
Makes me violent, depressed,
                                afraid.
Drink is a drag.

Don't need no artificial
world to live within.

Don't want no plastic
bottle induced planet
of black and grey shadows.

Don't need no seedy scenes
which brings me to hate
                            everyone.
Which brings me to hate
                            myself.

Drink is a drag.
A waste of time and effort.
A waste of love and pride.

Makes me afraid,
               so very afraid.

Drink is a drag.
I should know it.

Nicely penned, and well said.

Drinking doesn't bring much of the positive I don't think and I'm basing that on my experience and what I've seen drink do to others that I know and have known. A very very good poem on the subject.

Very succinct for such a broad and important topic. Nice stylizing.

Insightful and thought provoking, although I have a very faint idea of what it feels like to be drunk, lol. Well penned. Keep up the good work. :)

Some people are happy drunks, while others are nasty when inebriated. Either way, can turn out bad. Nice write.
