Memory of a calling

Memory of a calling

A Poem by Alasse Fefalas
"

I was inspired to write this when my friend wrote an eulogy for english class.

Memory of a calling

By Alasse Fefalas

Pristine white stone
Named, engraved
Shadow is covering
The soil beneath

Black clothed figures
Whispering, praying
Tears are falling
For the fallen

Gentle wind blows
Lamenting, comforting
Spirit is lifted
Away from ground

Words paint pictures
Beautiful, apalling
Line is repeated
In Memoriam, beloved

Oh so touching are your words here. I could picture the family and friends of the deceased standing at a graveside service. Very moving! Lydia

It paints a picture for me of the scene the goodbyes took place, but it doesn't give emotion, not sure if thats intended or not. But I do like the short lines you used, it keeps the readers interest level high through out.
