War

War

A Poem by Alasse Fefalas
"

My take on what happens when there's a war.

"

War

By Alasse Fefalas

The deafening sound

Rang throughout the night

Gunshots of soldiers

Screams of fallen knights

Humans sent onto battlefield

Armed machines their allies

Green plains turned red of blood

Brave men of countries die

War fought by brave men

Needlessly killed in battle

Mothers and wives weep

Hopes of their return trampled

The dead return with honour

Survivors' return to safety fulfilled

No one knows what haunts them

But dead comrades and fallen enemies

Wars certainly happen

Because of greed, power and man

Better would it be not

If we not talk using our hands?

Despite the lack of euphony in the poem, you present good ideas concerning suffering, greed and ignorance.

The last strophe is the one I liked best, because it's conclusive character.
