Memories
By Alasse Fefalas

"Do you remember the time when you told me that you saw the sky a brilliant red, spilling down from the heavens, like a glass of red wine that had leaned too far and splashed it colour all over?”

He looked at me with a smile, hung his arm on my shoulder and said, “That was every word I said. I can’t believe you actually remember that. Oh, and I can never forget that instance when I told you. You didn’t believe me... and looked at me as if I was a crazy person or something.”

“Well, yeah. It was then. But you’ve really outdone yourself this time by proving it to me, dear,” I said, a smile playing on my lips.

“Because I know you’ll never believe me... until you see it for yourself. And there’s nothing better than to spend a day with my lovely lady on a hill with a gorgeous sight accompanied with irresistible food and great tasting wine,” He grinned, giving me a small kiss on the cheek.

“And if the wine runs out, we can just blame it on the sky who spilled this wonderfully red wine on itself and leaving us with none!”

I extended my hand and watched the colours spread through my glass as the sun gracefully lowered itself behind the mountains, waiting for another day to come and dazzle others with its beauty and poise.
