My Past

My Past

A Poem by Savanna Robbins
"

Discussion of memories

"
My memories
Crash over me
Like a tidal wave
And pull me
From the shore
The foam is the words I said
The clear blue is my actions
Mingling amongst each other
Reminding me of my past
I wish them to be washed away
Like a waterfall
Into a rushing river

Beautiful metaphor and powerful words. Yes the memories and consequences of past actions overwhelm and haunt us until we make a conscious choice to move on. Great poem.
