The Tiger

The Tiger

A Poem by Placid Stranger

Corrupted by the steel cages of an everlasting institution of death

Drifting on waves, the pertinent ways of my petulant mind that transcends all time

Flow back to the place you're taken from, watch them spill out secrets like it was never done

Hear the voices peak and echo, hold back the ones you never let follow

The escape if it never arrives, free the mind and let your body arise

To where the sun disappeared a million miles ago

Don’t be reluctant in the petty approach

We used to think that every time the light bent, maybe it was just my starving conscience

All I needed was some rest

But that just suppressed

All this that I'm saying

Now the song fills my head

Someone needs to let it live

The one I’ve been singing

Created through suppression of deep daunting light

Driven by moonlight in the sky of my night

Finally set forth on the path that wouldn't preemptively explain my own destruction

My hopes control the reign of all never ending possibilities

I subscribe to nothing that will leave me questioning your boundaries

Set forth, wrapped up in my own context

I'll live out a string of inconsistencies that pile up

Until I find the burden of this dream that forces me to break

And sing about complete existence that consumes our incomplete fate

Just as before they were but yours alone

Decisions directing this path are now my own

Even when my voice is stolen, I am free

Guaranteed by you, always I will be

At least in my own mind

Wow. I normally cringe from line lengths that are inconsistent - but this works for me. Very deep. Very complex. I want to revisit this a few times to fully digest. Have placed in my library so I can. Nice work!

umm,
very complex and intricate.
like a object of art made in times before telly was invented and we all got so diluted.
