Reclaiming Myself

Reclaiming Myself

A Poem by Scarlet M.

Because you see,

I was whole before you found me.

You came and took some pieces;

But it’s okay.

Those pieces, I don’t need them anymore.

I don’t want you back.

I don’t need you to fill them like before.

I will fix the empty hole you left

And fill it with rainbows and stardust

And love from people who actually stayed.

And then I can truthfully say,

I’m okay.

It’s going to be okay.
