A poem based on Christian singer Matthew West's song, Hello, My Name is...

Hello, my name is disabled

I feel like I have been labeled

People think I am hopeless

Which makes me feel worthless

Hello, my name is abandoned

I feel like my life is damaged

People pay me no attention

Which only adds to my declension

Hello, my name is autistic

I feel shy, but optimistic

People look at me weird

Making me wish I disappeared

Hello, my name is alcoholic

I feel upset and melancholic

People see me as fake

Which makes me feel like a mistake

For us all there is hope

Which helps us all to cope

With the pain we must endure

From our race to the cure

Jesus, our savior and lord

Is what will be our reward

He will love us no matter what

My shades on this life are shut
