Fear of the Unpredictable

This is a poem describing the anxiety and fear that one must face whenever they are hit with the unexpected like a broken arm or leg, death of a loved one, a flooded home, etc...

 In life there will be trials to face

 And endless love to always embrace

But what about those unseen trials

That are faced with fear and denial

 

  Fear of the unexpected is never fun

 It makes you want to say I am done

  You know that you will never be ready

  Which makes your heart feel heavy 

 

   Heavy with the fear you will never rise

   As cold, wet tears begin to fill your eyes

  Eyes that are full of terror of what is next

   For you do not know what to do or expect

  During these moments, Jesus is still there

 Helping to heal our broken hearts from fear

  Once he is there, he will never leave us 

  For his heart is filled with loyalty and trust

 As long as we believe and have faith in him

 Our lights will never grow more and more dim

  These lights will grow brighter than before 

 And will help guide us through hidden doors

These doors are hidden in our fearful souls

  The same souls that are as deep as bowls

 As much as we try to hide from all of this

 We must always be brave just like Jesus

Comments and input are welcome. :) I was inspired to write this poem by an injured ankle that started mysteriously hurting about a year ago and which I will be getting a hard brace for this next week, which is something that I have never had before.

Very sorry to hear about your ankle. You are right about those trials life throws at jus and having faith certainly is what helps us though them.

The unpredictable is always frightening but when you feel you are in safe, caring hands it is much less daunting. And also 'whatever will be, will be'! Keep writing.

I injured my back working at Walmart and wound up in a leg brace for almost two years.. It is very different when you are use to being active. Very inspirational write. I think you. shallimarRose
