Deathly Hallucination

Deathly Hallucination

A Poem by seanhoag

Blue and white surround my vision

A five fingered canvas comes into sight

Red roses flowing down its surface

Like a waterfall

I cannot see where the roses came from

I only know that

The thorn had done its work

I stare at the crimson cascade

Until it falls out of sight completely

Blue and white reinvade my view

My pool is now an ocean

Conquering the land beneath me

I can hear my heart pounding like a drum

But with every beat

It grows fainter

To the beat of my heart

The roses paint a picture

With every stroke

The painting grows clearer

But the paint only dries

Once the painting is done
