Notes~

A Poem by NoneOfYourBusiness akaKITTY KUTABAREakaCandyPole

You had me, at petal; aren’t I simple?
I started a tempting lean into the persuasive melody
and found a thousand notes
tucked under my sparrow bones
a owl quill under my clavicle
and ink in the dark liquid of my pupils

I wrote you a love song on a wafer
slipped it under your tongue
inside a fabled kiss
a sonnet on a piece of linen
pushed into your back pocket with my hand
on a ordinary walk down by the river

A verse, I painted on your hips
while you lay dreaming beneath the canopy of my saga
and a rhyme, carved from my restless fingertips
stained the collar of your shirt
in red traces

You had me at petal, and thought I was simple
until the notes materialized
in a thousand varying shapes, in a thousand different places
in a thousand different dyes
over a thousand and one nights
until my gown was a whisper of papyrus and leaves
stitching the hemline of our story, with two possible endings

You had me at petal, but I am not simple . . . .

Your prose tingles the senses, flips it upside down and works its way into your spine. I love the flow, the meter, the wonderful ways in which you say things in a fresh, spirited way. I am always fond of your skills in penning the most sensual, yet understated lines.

i had forgotten just how amazing your writing can be, the poetry electric and this love story with a perfection to the poetry that is both exhilarating and fiendishly beautiful all at once. poetry does not get this beautiful very often! i especially loved 'sparrow bones' and the line 'a sonnet on a piece of linen' there is a lightness to your writing and a sensitivity to language that i find inspirational. fantastic.

ghostofdawn~ so good to see you~ thank you
I thought of a metamorphisis when I read you. Woman in nature are complex creatures I suppose. We can be nice to look at...like the petals on a rose. So you would think that with a little water and tlc we'd thrive. But quite contrary. We require so much more. The many depths of the body and soul you explore...powerful it is to read you. So glad you came back to us...even if you don't f*****g care who we are. lol

Of course you care. :D
this flows like a mountain river through a glen
; pure, clear, beautiful.
The ending is perfect.

thank you, kindly~
You're nothing but simple, the perfect surreal puzzle to solve, and to learn from!
I loved this write, as all of yours. Again some great lines:" a owl quill under my clavicle and ink in the dark liquid of my pupils" and "while you lay dreaming beneath the canopy of my saga" Simply brilliant.
