The One Holding The Gun

The One Holding The Gun

A Poem by Sirius King

The One Holding The Gun
Poem by Serenus

The one holding the gun
Holds life and death in his hands
He has protected his own
While enslaving the unarmed man

The one holding the gun
Has stolen and colonized land
He has raped and pillaged
Never satisfying his demand

If you live by the gun
You'll surely die by the gun
But if you're the only one strapped
You have already won

The one holding the gun
Is like the only nation with a nuke
Bullying the other nations
Keeping them all spooked

The one holding the gun
Believes he earned all he stole
Forgetting, holding the world hostage
Is how he gained control

But the one without the gun
Will soon tire of being attacked
He will long to have his own gun
He will learn to shoot back

When it's all said and done
When the smoke unfurls
The one holding the gun
Is the one who runs the world
