When You Asked Me Why

When You Asked Me Why

A Poem by Essa G

How was I supposed to tell you

All the things I wanted to say

All the words on the tip of my tongue

All the the phrases in my head

Everything I had was caught

In my mouth

Every thought I had

Was burning with rage that boiled up

So when you asked me why

I couldn't tell you I

Couldn't explain the reasons

I couldn't reply

Oh oh oh oh oh

How could I have made you

Understand when I know

You'd never hear me out

You'd deny everything I said

And I knew you'd never get it

What it was like to be me

All the things I felt inside

When everyone expected me to be

A perfect wonder

Who never makes mistakes

The one who never goes under

But I don't have what it takes

Cause when  you asked me why

I couldn't tell you I

Couldn't explain the reasons

I couldn't reply

Oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh

You'd never believe me

You'd never take me seriously

So the feelings I had

Got stuck in my throat

When you asked me why

I couldn't tell you I

Couldn't explain the reasons

I couldn't reply

How could I have made you

Understand when I know

You'd never hear me out

You'd deny everything I said

When you asked me why

I couldn't tell you I

Couldn't explain the reasons

I couldn't reply

Oooo ooooo ooooo oooo

Oh oh oh

I love to sing and baking, but singing the most. Writing is more of a hobby for me. I've written a novel called 'Silver' and I'm in the process of writing the sequel, which is called Prophetess. I hop.. more..
