Pain reliever

A Poem by Oh Wow, Lovely.

  Even though he knew it was a bad idea,
he did it anyway. 

He yearned for the day,
it would all be okay.
He wrote a note,
and scarred his throat.
That day turned out to be today. 

He stayed afloat,
rising in the air. 
Everything and anything can hurt,
beware.

It reminds me of Sylvia Plath's Lady Lazarus..Beware...I eat men like air....And the subject matter also link the poem to Plath. The short line and abundance of rhyme give the poem an immediacy - 'This is happening now!' and a message, which is very relevant. Thanks for posting this very accomplished piece of writing.
