Eyes For an Angel

A Poem by Harry Mora

My darkness parts and your light streams into me

Your soul answers mine and lifts it from despair

My eyes finally open

I look into your face and I can see

I touch your cheek, I kiss your mouth

Suddenly I know I can still care

I've been blinded by the pain for so long

I became the nothingness in my soul

You come to me, you touch your flesh to mine

You show me I'm still whole

No longer shattered, tortured, or abused

My emotions turn to you

When you are lost and crying

Thinking that you're of no value

I wish I could give my eyes to you

Give you my eyes to see through

To see the vision that I see, you'd see yourself so well

Look into the mirror and see

I give my eyes to an angel.
