All In My Head

A Poem by Harry Mora

I wait endlessly

Release me from this banality

Broken, wounded by my own hand

Attacked in a way I don't understand

I am a part of this blasphemy

Saved so often just so he could laugh at me

Forever tested, hardened to survive

Or forever jested with, a clown being kept alive

An eternal warrior, my past always precedes

To lay down this sword is all that I plead

To lay down my arms and build up a life

An armistice to this internal war, ending this strife

Why can't I find closure?

An end to all this failure

Why can't I have a savior?

To answer this small prayer
