A gift of love

 

Lie with me in a field of wildflowers

Gaze upon the stars in the darkest of nights

Sip the scent of eagerness as you hold me close

Look upon the moon and let the ring around it testify

 

Let the morning glory’s sing with sweet delight

Harbor no resentment toward the wild sage

Let the dandelions roar and the susans stare

Savor the promise of forever in this moment

 

In your arms let me melt into my dreams

Heather and lavender will be our memory

Soft and scented let it envelope us

Devour my very being with the fullness of you

 

Caress the soul of my love for you

Trace my lips with your velvet touch

Embrace the knowledge of us together always

Knowing that is how long I will love you

 

Forever will I be lost in your eyes

Forever found in your heart
