Am I Still Close??

Am I Still Close??

A Poem by Shalini Dinesh (Poet's World)

It was a pleasant day

When we first met,
The first day in school,
When things were all set.

Life started so well,
It was a lovely part,
To think of that time
About, our friendships start.

The time we spent
Together, was mostly fun
Bunking classes and roaming
Out in the scorching sun.

You was always there
With me in times of tear
To sit next to me, my problems
You was the one to hear

Driving the bike so fast
Splashing water on roads
On a rainy day, and you know
That I really love it loads.

Now those days have passed,
And we work from different place,
So busy enough even to
Spare some time or space.

Am sitting here, thinking of the past
Studying on the day before the exam,
Rushing on the last minute, till
The last day when we signed the slam.

We were close enough to fight
And to share laughter
Now I wonder if everything is same
From that last day after!

I Wonder if am still close
To your heart,
Or if it’s that some other
Friend who occupies that part?

What a sweet write for a missed friend.
Reminds me of one of long ago that I don't see
much, but talk to on rare occasion.
Good luck on exam!
