Make A Little Noise For Me

Make A Little Noise For Me

A Poem by ShaneBerry

The days run cold.
Layers of blankets oh,
Twenty-one years old.
Treated like he's seven,
Body feels like seventy, oh!

He tries to stay warm.
No, they are not poor.
Stubborn,
Rich in arguments and guts,
Treasures and such.

This is not home.
This is just where he'll be,
Until he finds the way to leave,
There's no ill will.
He loves the land and the kin,
But cannot escape the loneliness in this,
What they can call home.

A ranch filled with old car parts,
A house filled with laughter and pain.
In a city that long since has fallen apart.
And nothing's quite ever felt the same...
Not the same,
Of corse, he's always welcome back.
his friends remind him everyday.

His second family,
Far away.
Only known for five short years
but memories still flood his ears,
a sea.

It will never be what it was,
The old is gone,
He searches for new.

...
...

But nothing he finds.
It's all back and through,
Left and right.
Her and you.
She and he
up and down,
Over and under,
Through the town.
To the square.
Run around.
Make a little noise for me dear,

And I'll need someone to hide my fear.
My body is at it once more,
Seclusion, illusion I don't want to disappear...
The pain swells, like a knife through my insides torn...

A burden I feel like, a wasted space.
I know they don't see me that way...
But this is not black and white,
the pain has not gone away,
The beginning of everyday, feels like a bed race...

Such a disgrace and no one is near me,
Emptiness swells in my 'soul'
I just want my friends here,
but it feels like their leaving.
Nothing helps me now...
Am I alone

nothing he finds.
It's all back and through,
Left and right.
Her and you.
She and he
up and down,
Over and under,
Through the town.
To the square.
Run around.
Make a little noise for me dear!

Next time I see y'all I'll act like a clown!
Tell you crazy stories while we all drive through the town.
You crazy kids always know just what say,
To take my mind off of the disarray.
Hopefully I'll make it too,
Before I loose my chance to see all of you!
