Feral Game

Feral Game

A Poem by Shayla Sayer

The demons call me by my name

Condescendingly and tempting

They know my desires

And they know how to give them to me

How to grant my every wish

How to make my heart burst from joy

How to cause my throat to close

Constricting all air movement

I cannot breathe…

But then…

They let me go

Release me from their lethal embrace

And they caress me

Countless hands stroke my features

Softly, harshly

Without care or concern for my well-being

They poke, they prod, they pinch

The demons call me by my name

For a beast, I am quite tame

For I come to play their feral game

They break my bones

And cause my blood to run

Like syrup through their sticky fingers

A game to them"they lap it up

Thirsty for more"they smile

And it sends shivers down my spine

That the demons can call me by my name

And I’ll come, for they call

And play this feral game.

For"for a beast, I am quite tame

And the demons"they call

They call me by my name.
