OCCUPIED

OCCUPIED

A Poem by Shelly Bell
"

This is the first of a new poetry series i am writing.

"

smiles

teeth
laughter

heart
valves
pulse

legs
feet
run

God created all things equal.

stomach
blatter
sprinkle

hands
fingers
drenched

head
eyes
lift

white only
stop signs
urinate

it's not the sidewalk's fault.
I just couldn't hold it anymore.

the secret of equality lies
behind the revolving door
of common places.
