On The Edge Of MadnessA Poem by Sheila Marie Carr
Going to the point of no return
Resting on the edge, the edge of a cliff Seems frightening yet calming Disillusions of thoughts, beliefs and ideas Keeps you on the edge of madness Slipping away into darkness Shadows lurking behind you While there are echos from the past Haunting your mind Yet on the brink of sanity mentally and emotionally imbalanced within Trying not to lose that sense of reality That you have left Your nerves are in a fragile state Ready to shatter into pieces While hanging on the edge Distorted thoughts and images of reality Whether sane or insane Unconventional and peculliar within normal limits Where do you turn to and how do you let go? When you're hanging on the edge The edge of madness. © 2013 Sheila Marie CarrReviews
