Failed Suicide Attempt

Failed Suicide Attempt

A Poem by Sheila Marie Carr
"

Not everything goes according to plan

"

As I felt the pills, slide down my throat

I wanted to end it all, sever all hope

Things didn't go according to plan

I guess my life, was in God's hand

When I opened my eyes, what a big surprise

To see I was breathing and still alive

I wanted to cry, scream and shout

I couldn't even speak, or open my mouth

There were tubes and needles everywhere

Where did I go wrong, it wasn't fair/span>

I wanted to leave this place, and never look back

But fate intervene and took away the facts

Now I'm left here, again all alone

No hope, no happiness, nor friends or home

So I linger in misery, disdain and contempt

From my botched and failed suicide attempt

This is sooo sad.. that someone with such a gift.. would be brought to such a state! So many regard their lives as mistakes.. and admittedly there was a time that I felt the same many years ago (before my children).. ALL life is a miracle.. the odds of us getting here are infinitely precise.. to my beating heart.. it must be destiny and fate that brings us here. I loved your flow here.. and if written from reality of yourself or another.. would love to hug you and let you know just how special you are. We are all individuals.. suicide is not a solution.. no matter the ropes or road chosen.. there is always a better way. I hope you find the strength.. and courage to fight to live.. myself.. I help others today around me.. to bring hope.. if only in small measure or gestures. I don't know that I can save the world.. but if I can help just one or two people.. then I have found true purpose. Thank you so much for sharing.. there are so many out there that do care! =)

This is a very sad, and beautiful poem...

Oh, and just fyi...

"Where did I go wrong, it wasn't fare"

It's 'fair' not 'fare'.

i thought about killing myself a few times. the last time i was standing on a busy road just thinking how easy it would be to step off the curb. i almost did it......but my aunt happened to be driving by and she stopped me. we lived for a reason....now we are left to figure out why. you have meaning....

I have had similar thoughts myself but would never have the bottle to attempt to take my own life for fear of being condemned to hell, i believe in that if we should take our life then we also die in the spirit world if such a thing exists.
This powerful emotional poem really touched at my heartstrings i was there with you in the room and could see the whole thing unfolding in my minds eye.
If you read TIME TO DIE DON'T ASK why you will see a similar account of my trials and tribulations and facing the very same predicament have a read see what you think of it,take care Micky boy
