Whatever You Do

Whatever You Do

A Poem by Sheila Marie Carr

Whatever you do

Dont' let nothing control you

Not a lover or a friend

Not even your kin

Whatever you do

Don't let anyone make you black and blue

Love who you are

You are your own special star

Whatever you do

Let your heart be true

You are your best friend

The one who'll be there till the end

Be your shelter and your guide

Hold your head up without pride

Be strong and just be you

Be free, whatever you do

I really love this poem.
At this point in time of my life,
this poem makes so much sense.
We cannot afford to forget when Yeshua said
LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOUR AS YOU LOVE YOURSELF.
This clearly sows you to nurture and love and cherish and value yourself first
before you can truly do the same for others.
There's nothing wrong with being kind, compassionate, loving, understanding, respectful...
but never allow anyone to take you for granted, just the same way you don't take people for granted.

Amazing write filled with blunt honesty and focused wisdom. I dig. Thanks for sharing Queen.

I like this poem for its flow. Its not my favorite, but it has good rhyme. Though the timing is a little off on a couple of the lines it has character and carries itself to the end. Nicely done.
