The Love Letter

Along lost love letter is found just in time.

   

                                                There once was a princess

                                                 who found her true love;

                                                 He was the only man she wanted

                                                 in the whole land

                                                 and her heart would melt

                                                 whenever he held her hand.

                                                 To win his heart

                                                  she did try

                                                  but alas,

                                                  he told her good-bye.

                                                 This hurt her all her life

                                                 for you see

                                                 she wanted to be his wife.

                                                 Time will make it better

                                                  they all told her

                                                  But this did not happen

                                                  so she wrote him a love letter.

                                                 Many years went by

                                                 he never gave her a thought

                                                 he moved on with  his life

                                                 and obtained what he sought.

                                                The princess now living

                                                 in the blue sky above

                                                 was told by the king

                                                  "This very nite your

                                                  true love shall die!"

                                                 The princess flew from

                                                  her home above

                                                  to comfort her

                                                  one true life.

                                                 In an effort to make

                                                 him feel better

                                                 she whispered in his ear

                                                 " read the love letter."

                                             

                                                Surprising himself

                                                 he found the letter

                                                 he did indeed keep. 

                                                 Her words of love

                                                 he held close to his heart

                                                 as he drifted away in his sleep.

                                                 The princess was now home

                                                 in the blue sky far above,

                                                  and happy was she

                                                 to once again be

                                                  with her one true love.

Well, isn't this just a sweet (and possibly slightly dark?) story of two lovers being reunited! Overall, I do really like the poem. Structure wise, it's solid. In my opinion, it's just the right length to really tell this tale the way it should be told, so good job on that. I also enjoyed how it flowed; the narrative style works here. Great job with this piece. I hope my feedback is helpful in some way! :)
