Memories

Memories

A Poem by Shreyas Tripathy
"

Now you are walking away, leaving behind your shimmer I close my eyes for the memories, so my hopes would glimmer ...

"
Rolling in front of my eyes
The unwinding reel of my life
Of the things i have left behind
Just memories remain

Walking down a lonely street
New dreams awaiting me
Left behind everything I wanted to be
Remembering them in vain

Need a heart that is pure
Incomplete and lost, never felt so insecure
Need a shoulder to cry on
Tears are hard to contain

Now forgive me for I have you in my memories
You have a place in my heart
I need you in front of my eyes
But only your memories remain

Now I need you here, need you to be
With me ( like I need to breathe)
I want you to come and never leave
Want you to trust me again

But still everything remains the same
You have left the way you came
It seems all is lost again
And here comes the same old refrain

Just memories remain...
just memories remain...

essential and very well-thought.

A beautiful piece, I like the sadness. We all lose so much in our lives, and we gain so much, too - mostly memories, but aren't those something?
As is, we can't go back in time (I doubt it'll ever be possible no matter what machines they may invent), but each and every experience is saved in our memory. Granted, some are less pleasant and even the happiest can sadden us if they take us back to a past happier then the present, but by changinf our attitude towards them we can treasure the happiness we once were lucky enough to experience, thanks to the memories, forever.
It's a pity that little in life is as steady as our memories...
You depicted the longing for more stability in life wonderfully.
However, if only memories remain... hold onto those.

Those words were in bold lettering, and it kind of paints a picture of what the whole poem is saying. Was that intentional or an unintended effect?
All in all its beautiful.

nice one :) i guess the last line should be 'And here comes *the same...' ?? or is it right to be 'he' over there?

Oh ! That's actually "the". I missed t there :)
A beautiful and sad poem. Sometime all we have left is memories. I like the thoughts in the poem and the repetition. Thank you for the excellent poem.
