Puddle of Nonsense

Puddle of Nonsense

A Poem by Shutter Speed

Just a little weaker

or a little angrier and

your Coca-Cola pen is a block of ice

where ideas will melt from the page and onto

your desk and

Just one goddamn poem

will you just grant me one

goddamn poem because

if you leave it in God's hands expecting

the world from Him anytime soon you're sorely mistaken and

with my own block of ice vulnerable

to IT

sooner or later and the

puddle of nonsense on my desk with

nothing to its name but a few photographs and poems of

occasional smiles is simply a puddle of nonsense for what it's worth

SO

Is a smile worth a thousand poems

or a laugh a million tears and

I suppose

time cannot trap a memory

like it can a person

in a block of ice to melt

into a puddle of nonsense

Poems written on a whim are usually the best kind. You're one of the most original and captivating writers, I believe.

Really, it's awesome. I'm officially jealous. :D Please, keep up the good work.
