Daunting Apathy

Daunting Apathy

A Poem by Sid
"

A poem about the brutal gangrape that occurred in Delhi, India on the 16th of December...

"

I bow my head in shame

Aghast at the atrocities committed

On another human being

Violated so mercilessly

Beaten to the edge of life

The horror stark and daunting

The depravity for all to see

I feel shame for being a human

A human like these beasts

Who would brutalize another

Just for the sake of cheap thrills

For the sake of fulfilling base desires

They would turn to such savagery

And destroy life as it was to be

I look in the mirror and my shame is gone

All I see now is rage, seeping

From the bottom of my heart

The girl is dead while these b******s

Live on and I curse life, howl to the gods

The anger now drives me, uncontrolled

And weeping inside, for the loss of life

I calm myself and go out

To join the protest and demand

Their lives, for they should bleed

For their disregard for life

I pen this poem and let out my rage

And hope to find others like me

To join this cause.

Not sure how the poem turned out but I just had to vent my anger and this is what I came up with...I'm sure you have all heard of it and I find it appalling that a human would do something like this to another human...just my thoughts.

well, having no knowledge of the incident, i can only take it for what i see here. that being said, i fullheartedly agree with you. im a dark and twisted person, but this is something id never even contemplate doing. its truely appalling that "people" like this are in this world, they deserve to bleed eternally. fantastic job here sid.

i know EXCACTLY what you mean and have felt every single word you said, with things like this happening you feel that the world is a tiny prison,
the poem turned out perfectly, and the cause was devine.

It's good to be back, thank you for the read and review as always Nick!
I tend to cocoon myself in the soft silk unawareness of the daily news; my knowledge of this act is limited to what you've written about here. From what you have penned, it is an atrocity. Keep shouting. Justice is not out of reach. Either sanctioned or not, these monsters will get what is coming to them, of that I have no doubt. Thank you for sharing this with us.

Wow, another emotive read. This is daunting, yes! The injustice, the audacity, the disgust, it's all in there, screaming!! You're killing me today with these profoundly affecting reads. Well done my friend, this needs to posted where all the monsters can read it, although I doubt any of them has a stitch of a conscience.
