Indigo Skies

Indigo Skies

A Poem by Justin Tobey
"

Inspired by a trip to the pool last night... : )

"

Gentle, lullaby waves

caress and embrace me

in the tranquil midnight pond.

I lie on my back,

pondering the sky.

Though deep, swirling mists

and thick blankets of cloud

cover the beautiful abyss,

pale, soft light shines through,

painting the twilight sky

like spilled water colors.

First is the usual midnight blue,

but then, it brightens to indigo

with subtle tones of tropical magenta.

As the night deepens, the sky brightens

to a faded pink, then a bright violet.

As I float in the peaceful waters,

I gaze upward towards infinity,

falling upward in its gentle pull.

The universe beckons, veiled by

these beautiful ribbons and tapestries

of indigo cloth.

This is beautiful, vivid, and it lures the reader in
to enjoy all the colors you painted. I love watching the
sky...of colors, mysteries, the birds dipping into each
prism...magical. AD

wow, nice use of colors. That wouldv'e looked really beautiful, and you described it so well! I love how you described them as ribbons and veils, it all seemed so peaceful. Great job!

I like the way you have used color here. And I love deep shades of blue. My favorite hues. Very nicely detailed, colorful work, and I could see that sky in my mind, feeling the emotions through the colors. Nice work.
