Remembrance

Remembrance

A Poem by Justin Tobey
"

A testament to those moments when I feel like I could slip through the universe. Hopefully to become a song shortly.

"
Have you ever forgotten what you've been told,
Ridden rivers of thought shining copper and gold?
Forget, and remember again.
Do you ever feel the world's secret places,
Seen past this lifetime to past lives and faces?
Forget, and remember again.

When the night sky is still and the winged wind dies
Have you felt the thin universe wrapped up in lies?
Forget, and remember again.
Blackest night is just boasting, its shadows run shallow
And the orb of a lifetime, inside and out hollow.
Forget, and remember again.

The world is a cheesecloth, a fabric stretched thin.
Tear through the illusions, find what's hidden inside.
What the world has to hide.

Have you felt light inside you, waiting to transform,
The power to stir all things into a storm?
Forget, and remember again.
In the stillness, transparency and reflection
Break through what you know to creation's perfection.
Forget, and remember again.

The world is a bed sheet stretched out 'cross the void.
Follow through the stitches, though Time's been avoiding you
Up and over the Blue.

Remember the thrill of arranging the sky,
Reconcile with Time 'til he's yours to tongue-tie.
Raise your voice to shatter the glassy heaven
Then replace every star 'til your sins are forgiven.
Look not above or below for the One,
Look inside and beyond past the moon and the sun.
Forget and remember, forget and remember,
'til the world you once knew is only ash and ember.

The world is a cheesecloth, a fabric stretched thin.
Tear through the illusions, find what's hidden inside.
What the world has to hide.
What the world cannot hide.
It's all hidden inside.
