Go back in time...

Go back in time...

A Poem by Simple_mee
"

Childhood is the time in ones life that everyone desires to re-live. The same is the case with me...

"

When the days were just a play,

When the nights were a frightening grey,

When the butterflies were a source of joy,

When nothing in life was a mere coy,

The peals of laughter when echoed aloud,

Running and jumping when I went about,

When getting high meant on a swing,

When our worst enemies were just our siblings

The heart when was filled with nothing but innocence,

I want to go back in time when I was a toddler….

Nothing to fear, nothing to worry,

When the world was free from the emotions curry,

When to distract me was as easy as a cake,

Which everyone and all could bake,

A for Apple when was a new thing,

Learning numbers 1 " 10 was something big,

When Dad’s shoulder was the highest place in this world,

When love was my Mother’s hug,

When the birds used to be my best buddies,

I want to go back in time when I was a toddler…..

I want to live with Snow White once more,

I want to get involved in the mysteries of the sea shore,

When there was no distinction between a fact and a myth,

When the seven coloured rainbow used to wonder me in a jiff,

When autumn and summer meant just nothing to me,

I want to go back in time when I was a toddler….

Such a wonderful reminder of what's been and gone .. wonderful memories but, always remember what you are today is the house build on a great foundation

' When Dad’s shoulder was the highest place in this world, .. When love was my Mother’s hug, '.. .. those are two sweet and loving lines.

You write beautifully.

How wonderful it would be to live as freely and as carefree as a child!
What a heartfelt poem about feeling this way......
It seems as if you did a lot of reminiscing about the past when you wrote this.
Very lovely piece....

What a joyful recollection of the past, childhood's precious memories! You extend your thoughts and feelings in such a way as to bring us all on that journey with you.. a time of peace and mystery as well. Beautiful!

cute poem, everyone loves their childhood days, something that we can never get back... lovely poem reminding me of all the good times... but why is that the first two stanzas are equal in number and third stanzas has got lesser lines, looks like incomplete....
